Mail connectivity problems

Alert: Currently some users are experiencing issues while attempting to access webmail. Most users accessing mail via webmail may experience slowness in navigating the interface, and may get “500 Internal Errors”.

Current Status: Fully Resolved.

Incident Timeline: Issue reported at 18:35. Issue resolved by 19:05. All mail queues back to normal (backlogs cleared) within 1 hour.

What Happened: A database issue led to one of our mail servers requiring emergency maintenance. This led to an increased load on the back-up mail servers which resulted in slowness and time-outs.
