Comment on High PR Blogs for Free Linkbacks

May 20, 2008

Raman commented on the post “Linkbacks from High PR Blogs“, saying that the blog compiling the list was suspended by Wordpress.com. A year ago, doing a review in exchange for a linkback was the rage. Until the google smackdown in July/August. So that list is probably redundant now. The “in” thing to get free linkbacks now is posting comments on high PR blogs, preferably with dofollow. So here are some complied lists (dofollow not guaranteed): While you can be lazy and post thank-you-i-love-your-blog one liner type comment, it is recommended that your comments be relevant to the blog post. Less the author delete your half-hearted attempt. Read more

Google Grants: Google Adword Grants For Not For Profits

April 26, 2008

At the iQ Bootcamp last week, in the Future Now Panel session that I took part in we shared the resource of Twitter. One of the questions always come up when people hear about Twitter (one of the currently popular micro blogging platforms)  is ‘what’s the purpose?’ closely followed by ‘isn’t it a waste of time’. Well here is an example of where following Twitter has resulted in a potentially huge opportunity for one of the not for profit organisations I work with and I hope will be of assistance for you too. Today I noticed a tweet (a message on Twitter) from Laura Fitton of Pistachio Consulting (you can find Laura at @Pistachio on Twitter). She sent a message that she was doing a live video stream using Qik and her mobile phone from PodCamp NYC. Read more

Google’s Paid Clicks Getting Flat?

March 28, 2008

ComScore recently released a report confirming that Google’s paid clicks for February were only 3% higher than the same period last year. If we then consider that this February had one extra day, the real growth is practically 0% year over year. There is also a 3% declined month over month (February had 515 million paid clicks, while January had 532 million). One point that is not clear is if those numbers are coming from Google’s search network alone or from a combination of the search and the content network. The latter case would probably be bad news for website owners and bloggers alike. Regardless, there is a clear flat trend on paid clicks. Could this be the delayed impact of Google’s latest changes on the ad formats and clickable areas? Or the casual Internet surfer is just getting used (and blind) to contextual advertising? Time will tell. Source: Silicon Alley Insider

Easter Release Link Love

March 22, 2008

It’s time for another version of link love here on Easy WordPress. Since the last post about blogger comment recognition was received with so much gratitude I figured it wouldn’t hurt to do it again. Consider it a little Easter bunny present. Commenter’s are every blogs life and blood and without them we would simply dry up. One of our most active commenter’s here is Life is Colourful. Unfortunately I have no idea on whether LiC is a he or a she so I will have to revert to address the person as LiC. LiC blogs about Life, Technology, Reviews, SEO, the Internet and making 2 cents per minute. I love this, since most people brag about how they make $100/minute. At least LiC doesn’t throw around big income statements to mislead people. But when you read the post February 2008 Proved to Be One Significant Month of Earnings you will soon find out that LiC actually earns a lot more than 2 cents/minute. If you head over to the LiC blog, there is some sound information to be found and an active commenting community. Read more

Bringing Your Brand To Life Through Your Visual Identity Online

March 1, 2008

Krishna De - Biz Grwoth news original banner_1.jpg

For some time I’ve been wanting to do a major overhaul of my visual identity online.

So this year I am planning to develop a number of my personal website and business blog sites and try to bring them back to the core of my personal brand.

I would always recommend that you start with looking at the corporate identity of your business and work from there, but since my personal brand is so intertwined with the corporate identity of my business and the fact that most people come to know me through “Biz Growth News”, I made a decision to start with a redesign of this site.
